Cellular backup
AnsweredThe PLT is a connected device for programming and testing other connected devices. There is an ethernet port in the back for connecting it to PLTcloud so that you can deploy new releases to it and collect test reports from it. If your factory has an unstable Internet connection, you may want to have a Plan B. Adding a cellular modem to the PLT is a logical backup.

The Ethernet port of the PLT can be connected to an off-the-shelf cellular gateway that is setup with an appropriate data plan, such as:
- Monnit Wireless Cellular Gateway
- Netgear LB1120-100NAS 4G LTE Modem
- Option CloudGate 3G/4G/LTE
- US Robotics USR3510 Courier M2M 3G CDMA/GSM Cellular Gateway
